Hyndburn - A place with a thriving local economy with sustainable market towns.

This is 1 of 7 of our Sustainable Community Strategy's key commitments and is the focus of the Economic Development and Enterprise Thematic Working Group. 

This means the provision of high quality local jobs and reducing the number of people in receipt of benefit.  We will create attractive, clean and safe towns that are easily accessible with a wide variety of shops where people choose to spend their leisure time.

By 2018 we will have succeeded if:

  • The income of wage earners has increased
  • The number of new business start ups has increased
  • The level of worklessness has reduced
  • There are fewer people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)
